Brrrr!!! Still so cold for the middle of May! Courgettes and other tender crops like sweetcorn are safely tucked up in the greenhouse, waiting for the warmer weather to come and stay for good. Lots of the other veg are doing well outside though, apart from where the local cat population has disturbed them. There are several clumps of beetroot and spinach missing as a result. Peas and mangetout are up and looking healthy, broad beans are getting ready to flower too I think, and the lettuces I planted out a few weeks ago are growing nicely.
I must get on with clearing the last corner of the veg garden so that the area reaches maximum production as soon as possible. I will note down my various tactics on this front...
